The Pattern #002 — One Language cover

The world's two dominant settlement rails just finished switching to a single message standard — the one Ripple helped shape five years before they arrived.

What's documented

SWIFT — November 22, 2025

The MT / ISO 20022 coexistence period ended. Legacy MT103 and MT202 messages were retired. ISO 20022 now carries 3.1M+ payment messages a day across 210+ countries.

U.S. Federal Reserve — July 14, 2025

Fedwire completed its migration to ISO 20022 — moving roughly $4.7 trillion in daily settlement onto the new standard.

Ripple — May 2020

Ripple became the first DLT company admitted to the ISO 20022 Registration Management Group — the body that governs the standard SWIFT and the Fed just adopted.

The connection

They didn't adopt a crypto standard. They adopted the language Ripple was already inside of. Every bank on both rails now speaks the same data language as XRP infrastructure.

The format barrier between traditional settlement and the XRP Ledger is gone. What remains is adoption — documented, not predicted.

The rails now speak one language. Ripple has been in the room where that language is governed since 2020. The format barrier is gone — only adoption remains. Stay locked in. 👁️
